Come Alive took place on Oct 10th at Vandusen Gardens. More than a hundred people attended the event. Attendees primarily comprised of care staff working in care homes, as well as licensing officers, family members and residents, and of course the VCH long term care leadership team. The event entailed welcoming the guests and the presentation of the video that reflected the voices of the residents, followed by a presentation by the VCH’s leadership team to reveal their strategy to the shift the culture of care in care homes.
The second half of the day was assigned for the activities designed by Emily Carr’s HDL team and final words from the presenters. We created three activities as well as the presentation materials for the event. Based on the style established in Phase 3, the final version of our workshop centred on collaging and the visual of a bird to represent people.
